A lot of kratom vendors are promoting misinformation on the web during the coronavirus pandemic about the kratom plant containing a molecule called chloroquine (Cq). While there are scientific studies that show chloroquine helps patients fight the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), that’s the extent of the accuracy behind the journalistic reporting of those kratom vendors, because unfortunately, you cannot get chloroquine from kratom. And the reason for that is simple: kratom does not have any chloroquine molecules found inside the plant.
Can You Find Chloroquine in Kratom?
First off, chloroquine is not a naturally occurring molecule. It’s man-made. So you’ll never find chloroquine inside any plant. It’s a synthetic drug created by chemists at pharmaceutical companies. The closest compound you’ll find in nature that resembles the chloroquine molecule is an alkaloid called quinine. And the reason those molecules are similar is due to the fact chloroquine is synthesized from that compound. But quinine is not found inside kratom either. Instead, it’s found inside one of kratom’s plant cousins: the bark of a cinchona tree.
Kratom Does Not Contain Chloroquine but Kratom Contains Valuable Alkaloids for Your Immunity
So, even though we know that kratom does not contain any chloroquine molecules, there are a few other compounds found inside kratom that are still beneficial for staying healthy while others are sick around you.
They may not kill off the coronavirus, as some of the other vendors have claimed, but they assist your immune system with warding off viruses and diseases better than someone who doesn’t get these types of phytonutrients.
Let’s take a look at some of those compounds inside kratom that promote your immune system right now.
Immunostimulant Compounds
There are three molecules found inside kratom that are known to boost your immune system. And since your body’s immune system is how it fights off diseases, then the more immunostimulants, the better. And those immunostimulants inside kratom are:
- Isomitraphylline
- Isopteropodine
- Isorhynchophylline
These immunostimulators give your body an increased advantage of fighting off a sickness. For example, when scientists looked over the data surrounding immunostimulants given to children who are susceptible to acute respiratory tract infections (ARTI), the results show a reduction of ARTIs by 39% in the test subjects compared to those who took placebos. That’s a huge decrease. So these are exactly the types of compounds your body needs while trying to avoid getting sick.
Antiviral Compounds
There is one other compound in kratom that plays an important role in helping you stave off any sickness. And that’s because it’s an antioxidant. And that compound inside kratom is:
- Epicatechin
Epicatechin belongs to a class of phytonutrients called flavonoids. This particular metabolite is a flavanol that is great at supporting a healthy cardiovascular system. And oxidants are known for warding off chronic diseases like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and even cancerous cells. It even works to lower your blood pressure and decrease inflammation. And since the coronavirus causes inflammation in the lungs (pneumonia), then it wouldn’t be a bad call to get as many antioxidants in your system as possible during the outbreak. It’s one of those “better safe than sorry” instances.
The Coronavirus Claim about Kratom is Not FDA Compliant
If you read any articles promoted by any kratom vendors that stated kratom contains a molecule called chloroquine, which fights off the coronavirus, you might want to think twice about ever dealing with those companies.
Spreading false information about kratom, a plant the DEA has in its crosshairs, puts the plant in jeopardy. And that has the potential to impact your ability to acquire kratom. While we can’t stop these companies from doing such, we do have the ability to vote with our money by denying those companies access to it.
Stock Up On Kratom If You Need It
And speaking of access to kratom: Right now, the federal and state governments are doing their best to prevent the spreading of the coronavirus by encouraging citizens and businesses to participate in social distancing. That means a lot of companies are recommending their employees to work from home.
At the moment, there are no restrictions placed upon the United States Postal Service. But who is to say what might happen tomorrow? We’re in uncharted territory here.
I don’t want to start a panic, but I do want you guys to have access to kratom during this troubling time. So, to play it safe, you might want to stock up on kratom supplies. That way, your mental and physical health is safeguarded.
Nobody wants to go through a pandemic without a little herbal remedy to take off the stress. And we just learned it helps promote good health. Fortunately for you, Ketum Superior has a large inventory in stock to keep your kratom needs satiated. Pick up a multi-pack while you’re at it, so you can get a variety of kratom products to try. Who knows? You might find another type of kratom that you like better than your favorite. And that’s always a nice surprise.
